Constructed Self: A Mirror of Joy Constructed Self: A Mirror of Joy

The work created by Blugărie SRL proposes more than a simple mirror — it is a space for intimate confrontation with the self. The frame made of fragments of worn denim bears the traces of time: tears, discolorations, imperfections. These function as a metaphor for human identity built from experiences, vulnerabilities and continuous transformations. Denim, the most worn material worldwide, becomes here a frame of recurring authenticity. It suggests that perfection is not needed to access joy, but acceptance, liberation, and the mirror does not just reflect an image, but provokes introspection.

In an era in which joy is often projected outwardly — in objects, social validation or appearances — this mirror reverses the direction of the search.

Posing in this mirror triggers a rhetorical question: if I can’t find joy outside, then where do I look for it?

The answer, subtly suggested, is already present. In the gaze. In acceptance. In the soul. In that moment of sincerity between the eyes and the reflection.

This work does not offer joy — it reminds you that it already exists. In you.
