11:00 — 14:00
The workshop proposes a practical exploration of the body as a process in transformation, moving from stillness to conscious action. We work with the idea of bodily evolution: how we move from a body without motion to an active body, organically passing through intermediate positions and states. The focus is on continuity—on how movement emerges—rather than on results or fixed forms. In the first part, the warm-up becomes a pathway. We gradually investigate the relationship between posture, weight, and the initiation of movement, following a fluid progression through fundamental human positions. The aim is to find real transitions, not cosmetically choreographed ones. In the second part, we work with short movement phrases built around three principles: passive balance, active balance, and imbalance. We observe the difference between being in balance, sustaining balance through action, and using the loss of balance as a motor for movement. The resulting material is short, clear, and adaptable. The final part introduces ways of manipulating movement through themes and states. Drawing from principles associated with the practice of William Forsythe and the research of Steve Paxton, we work with variations of intention, dynamics, and spatial relationships. Movement is reshaped by shifting focus, quality, or internal impulse rather than by learning a fixed form. The workshop is intended for those interested in bodily research, technical clarity, and process, regardless of style. The emphasis is on direct experience rather than demonstration.
