The hackathon will take place on May 15-16 and, for 48 hours, mixed teams of Coding, Design and Marketing are invited to work together and then present their solutions in front of a jury formed by fintech specialists and experts, representatives of the academic environment and leaders of technology businesses.
UNICREDIT FINTECH HACKATHON 2026 THEME: Creating a web application (mobile responsive) with an integrated AI Financial Coach.
What the team must consider when developing solutions:
- They must create a web application (mobile responsive) in which an AI Financial Coach is integrated to provide financial advice based on the client’s needs and recommend UniCredit banking products in a personalized way.
- The application must include 3 major components:
- Onboarding/profiling -> the customer is asked some questions, and somewhere in the backend a profiling is done that will be used in the future at different times (answering questions, product recommendation, targeting by a banking advisor, etc.)
- A chat in which the customer says what they need and that information is analyzed
- The AI should provide advice and recommend UniCredit banking products in a personalized way (e.g. if they want to buy a car, you recommend a personal loan, not a mortgage)
- It is mandatory to use an API key that calls an LLM (gemini, chatgpt, claude, etc.) with a specific prompt that contains information about the customer, preferably in a JSON format, and the answer is displayed directly in the chat.

For evaluation, the following will be taken into account:
- Concept & Innovation: 50%
- Written code: 25%
- Alignment with UniCredit guidelines: 15%.
- Design (UI) made in any program (Figma, Canva, PowerPoint, Photoshop, etc.): 10%.

1st PRIZE: 2500 EUR
2nd PRIZE:: 1500 EUR
3rd PRIZE: 1000 EUR
Each team must have at least 5 members.
What happens if you don’t have a team?
No problem! Part of the fun of a hackathon is meeting new people. Participants will have enough time for everyone to get to know each other and choose a team before the hackathon starts.
Very Important: ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST REGISTER BEFORE MAY 5TH, 9:30 AM. OTHERWISE THEY WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED PARTICIPANTS AND ANY WORK THEY HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO WILL BE INVALIDATED, WHICH WILL LEAD TO THE TEAM’S DISQUALIFICATION.
