“The project demonstrates a clear understanding of the place, starting from what already exists. The steps become bleachers without any intervention, and the space at the lower level naturally transforms into a performance space. The public space is activated by an unexpected element: the suspended inflatable element arouses curiosity and creates a relaxed, accessible atmosphere. It easily becomes a landmark in the square, not only through its physical presence, but also through the energy it generates.

The intervention is kept to a minimum, but enough to change the perception: a simple stage, an inflatable roof and a support system that makes everything visible from a distance.

The jury appreciated the originality, the playful and slightly provocative spirit of the proposal, the economy of means, as well as the sustainable character: the balloon and the stage can be easily dismantled and transported, while the support equipment can be rented in the respective city.”

The project proposes an incursion into the heart of Iași, starting from a landmark with a fragmented geometry: Cub Square. In a context where the succession of spaces and the differences in level seem to divide, the intervention transforms these urban “gaps” into the main design resource, activating a latent space and returning it to the community in the form of an experimental stage.

The intervention is based on an aesthetic of the minimum necessary, where industrial materials and temporary structures enter into dialogue with the historical layers of the city. The result is a recognizable exterior “room”, a point of convergence that invites exploration and social interaction.
