Street Energy Battle is a new competition in the street dance community. The second edition will take place on 19.05.2024. The competition will have 2 battles – all styles and experimental – all ages / all levels
The judges will be: Satanel, Waana Neagu and Beat The YH. As MC we will have Olti, but the DJ will be Groovek – Victor Marinescu
On 19.05.2023, the jurors will each hold a workshop at CUB, and from 4PM the first battle will begin. The participants for the first battle will be chosen through a video call, starting in April. 16 will be elected, which will be as follows:
Each dancer comes with the song of his choice, which only the DJ knows.
The battle is of the 1 vs 1 type and the participants dance 2 rounds each.
- Each participant dances to the other dancer’s tune
- Each participant dances to the piece of his choice.
On the spot, the jury will choose 8 winners, from the 16 participants.
The battle will continue pyramidally, on the “All Styles” concept.
The winners will receive cash prizes and prizes from partners.
Finally. this battle will happen on a live freestyle rap of the MC, to increase the difficulty and creativity of the moment.
At the end of the event, there will be a short Q&A with the event judges.

Beat the YH represents the bands Burning Souls and Style of Control, the cities of Arad and Cluj-Napoca and has 15 years of experience in the world of dance.
He started when he was 9 years old, and currently he is the most active and most titled bboy in Romania with over 140 national, international results, world finals, etc.
Throughout his career, he developed on several levels, getting to tick off several skills in his CV.
Some examples would be: Dance instructor, choreographer, trainer, event presenter, event organizer, performer, athlete, etc.

DJ Groovek
I started exploring street style culture in 2009 and was drawn to its diverse and expressive nature.
In 2016, I started making beats and immersed myself in the funk culture, investing a lot of energy in regularly practicing the dance style “Locking on my own.”
In 2020, I took a major leap and chose to go to a UK Music University to deepen my musical knowledge.
Returning to Romania in 2023, I shifted my attention to the study of music necessary for competitions and dance parties.
Drawing on my love of funk and street dance, I set out to create a lively and catchy musical background that complements the energy on the dance floor.
I am also the organizer of “Release the Funk”, an event centered around my desire to share the knowledge I have gained over the years about Locking dance with people who are passionate or curious about this culture. (Check out @releasethefunk__ on Instagram)
My life at the moment is a combination of dancing, music production, DJing and exploring computer science and information technology (CS&IT).
This diverse approach reflects my commitment to continuous growth. I believe that each activity contributes to my overall artistic journey and I am dedicated to improving myself as an artist and as a person.

MC OLTI
He started his career in male gymnastics at the age of 3, he was a member of the national team and during his career he won multiple awards at national and international competitions (over 100 awards and medals).
At the age of 15, he moved to Cluj-Napoca to the Choreography high school and started practicing breaking, ballet and contemporary dance.
Participating in many dance competitions in the last 11 years, among the successes are the following:
– Best Male Dancer and 1st place DanceStar Croatia 2017
– Romanians have Talent 2017 finalist
– Winner of Eurovision Croatia 2022
– Best Male Dancer BucharestDanceFestival
– top 40 Ninja Worrior Romania
In addition to the prizes won, Olti participated in TV shows such as: Chefi la Cutie, Romania Danseaza, La Maruta, etc… He was part of the Szeberg Show Production from 2017 to 2019, dancing as a soloist in the shows: “Michael Jackson Tribute”, “Sound of Cinema”, “Footloose”
Last year in 2023 he started his career as an MC and debuted with 2 albums “Gohan 13” and “OG CJ” together with two launch concerts, the albums can be listened to all streaming or watched on the YouTube channel together with the videos .
Satanel
Probabil ca ati văzut-o pe Satanel prin preajmă, cel mai probabil dansând la o petrecere; asta doar dacă muzica este bună.
Așa cum îi place ei să spună „dansul nu a renunțat niciodată la mine”, cel mai probabil motivul pentru care încă își face timp să exerseze și să-si imparta timpul între locuri de muncă, aparitii în reclame, tatuaje si picturi murale.
Tot ceea ce face, face bine, câștigând mai multe competiții și fiind mereu prezentă în proiecte mari. Dragostea ei pentru cultură a făcut-o, de asemenea, să călătorească pentru a experimenta arta în diferite țări și a intra în legătură cu comunitățile de acolo.
Dragostea ei pentru muzică a făcut-o să ia căștile și să înceapă să facă DJ.
Satanel este o artista multidisciplinara, pasionata de cultura urbana. Dansatoare profesionista de hip hop, cu numeroase competitii castigate, sau constant regasita in the top brakets, energia si expresivitatea sunt elementele care aduc autenticitate in stilul ei de dans. Artist vizual si auditiv, Satanel se regaseste si in tattoo art, djing si arta murala, activand recurent in aceste domenii.

Waana Neagu
Passionate about music and history, Waana studies the social and cultural aspects that led to the emergence of various dance styles in the period 1960-present and their manifestation in various communities. She is concerned with passing on the tradition and sees dance as a form of education and activism.
Waana Neagu is part of the first generation of freestyle streetdancers from Romania and has helped to develop all the styles under the “street & club culture” umbrella, by organizing hundreds of workshops, dance competitions and events.
