A three-day contemporary dance intensive based on the Totem Dance Theatre methodology, which combines physical training with theatrical practices.
The courses will address movement based on release techniques, floorwork, weight and momentum work, coordination, dynamics, musicality, partnership work and improvisation. In parallel with the physical practice, we will explore tools specific to physical theatre: stage presence, intention, character, interaction with the partner and the ability to give meaning to movement that goes beyond its actual form.
The goal of the workshop is to develop a dancer who not only performs movement, but uses his body as an expressive and theatrical instrument: precise, responsive and fully present on stage.
The workshop lasts three days, 4 hours per day, and the number of participants is limited to 13 people. Registration is made by completing the following table: registration. Participation is mandatory throughout all three days, as the workshop is designed as a progressive journey, in which each stage builds on the experience and skills developed in the previous stage.

The workshop is aimed at both dancers and actors with experience in bodywork, as well as people who are passionate about movement and dance. The exercises and training will be adapted, where necessary, depending on the level of experience and preparation of each participant. We recommend that you wear loose and comfortable clothing, suitable for movement.

Artist
Medviedieva Viktoriia
Medviedieva Viktoriia is an independent artist, choreographer and teacher. She studied choreography at the Drahomanov University in Kyiv. After training and completing advanced courses at the Totem dance school, she was accepted as an artist at the Totem Dance Theatre, with whom she collaborated until 2021. In 2016, she collaborated with the H-dance dance group in Minsk. Since 2017, she has been a member of the ProContemporary Kyiv organization, dedicated to the development and promotion of contemporary art in Ukraine.
In 2019, she founded an independent association of young artists in Kyiv, KULT prosvet, with which performances and video works have been created and presented on the international stage. Also since 2019, she has been a member of the Holovy dance group, whose collective creates theatrical performances based on body expression and movement.
Since 2022, she has been living and working in Romania, where she collaborates as a choreographer with state and independent theaters. She is also a visiting professor at UVT and UNATC, in the theater department.
