[iid] LAB 

[iid] LAB is the research, experiment and training component of Iași Interior Design 2026, dedicated to students and young practitioners at the beginning of their journey in the field of interior design.

The Lab functions as a production and exhibition platform for prototypes, systems and spatial interventions developed in dialogue with industry and professional practice. The emphasis is on process, collaboration and testing in a real context, not on academic exercises or speculative projects.

The program offers an applied framework in which participants can understand, together with experienced designers and industry partners, how professional practice actually works: the relationship with the beneficiary, budgetary constraints, decision responsibility and implementation.

Participation is open to multidisciplinary teams, provided that at least one interior design or architecture student is included.

The themes of the 2026 edition explore the transition from object to system and the relationship between space and user, understanding the interior as an active interface, not as a simple decoration.
