The premiere took place on October 27, during the DINAM Contemporary Dance Season
(3rd edition), at the “Uțu Strugari” hall of the “Mihai Eminescu” National Theater Timisoara.

Synopsis: Filip and Beatrice explore the tortuous dynamics of a relationship always in one
rollercoaster: their friendship. Choreographers, performers, colleagues, lovers of reality and dance,
here and now, and practitioners of (almost) no-curtain humor, the two navigate with
vulnerability to each other, among stereotypes and prejudices, in a society all
more intolerant of insecurity, discomfort and opinions. Joking aside, how about identifying with the fruit gender?

Beatrice Tudor

Maria Beatrice Tudor graduated from UNATC Bucharest with an MFA and a BFA in Choreography. She works predominantly in the Romanian independent cultural sector. She is a member of two cultural associations: Unfold Motion (Timișoara) and Delazero (Bucharest). She is a performer, choreographer and cultural manager. She teaches contemporary dance classes for various age groups. In the last four years, her artistic practice has been focused on real-time-composition performances, outdoors shows, and cultural interventions in the public space, in small and middle sized communities.

Her artistic ethos is that every human is a performer, creating and performing their part everyday, in the showcase of their own life, and in the lives of others. While looking around, she discovers tiny performative moments taking place consistently. She tries to approach her inner rebellion with fascination, humour and tenderness, and then brings it in conventional and non conventional performing spaces. She finds inspiration for her shows in the surrounding realities, and especially in the details, nuances and specificities she notices in humans, nature and relationships. In 2022 Beatrice was the recipient of the National Dance Centre of Bucharest Award for her contribution to the building of contemporary dance.

In 2023, one of the projects she initiated – Dans Nomad – was nominated for the Radio România Cultural Awards Gala in the Performing Arts category.

I’m an interpreter and choreographer, with a strong background in contemporary dance, contact improvisation and breakdance. I’ve been exploring these various ways of movement since 2010. In the past I have collaborated with various people and institutions, like the Galway Dance Academy (Ireland), The Linotip Independent Choreography Center, Jan Burkhart, Marty Kudelka, and Gigi Caciuleanu – among many others. All of these experiences have combined and helped me understand that the way I learn and develop how I move my body and interact with the world is right at the cultural merging point between all of the styles of dance. For me, movement and dancing, specifically, is a manifestation of our bodies and feelings. Everything that makes us human and brings us closer together, like breathing, walking, common gestures and feelings are our way of dancing through the world. In the end, everything I learned and experienced throughout the way turned up and influenced the creation of my own show, “Scuze, noi!” (“Sorry, Us!”), hosted by Cuibul Artistilor (Nest of Artists) from Bucharest.
