HAZARDANCE: -EM

–EM is the ending of verbs that you can’t do alone.

We grab each other’s sleeves. We take each other’s word for it. We demand each other’s attention at the same second and still don’t get it.

We get ourselves together. We get fired up. We hide under the same scarf so we can say what we didn’t say.

We fall. From the chair, from the bar, one on top of the other, in the void, in agreement.

We tighten. We fade away. We get used to it — that is, we get used to it, that is, we unlearn it, it’s the same word.

We burn. We keep quiet. We start over. As many times as necessary.

We laugh.

We stay.

INGREDIENTS: two bodies (98%), dance, shared air, silence, sweat, an unfinished argument, stage dust, reconstituted promises, doubt, touch, attention (min. 4%), laughter, atmosphere thickening agent.
